About Me

I’m a Certified Postpartum Doula, Certified Lactation Educator, Newborn Care Specialist, Certified Birth Doula and a Childbirth Educator. I’m trained to care for people with trauma and  anxiety by Penny Simkin and Phyllis Klaus on the advanced module workshop of When Survivors Give Birth.

In my home Country, Brazil, as a clinical psychologist I had the opportunity and gained a lot of experience supporting people through challenging moments, transitions and changes in their lives. I see my choice of becoming a Doula as a natural extension, more hands on I’d say, of this lifetime of caring.

Being a mother myself I recognize deeply how important it is to have this kind of non judgmental support through pregnancy, birth and what we call the fourth trimester (postpartum period).

It doesn’t matter if it’s your first child or the second or the third. If you are adopting, using a surrogate, or any other option; each situation is unique and should be addressed as such, kindly.

My goal is to support with no judgment, respectfully embrace and care for you and your family, facilitating your journey through the transition to parenthood.

I am a married mother of two daughters and a lovely puppy called Maddi. I love to cook, read books and listen to music. I’m very intuitive. That pretty much defines who I am.

Testimonials

“It’s hard to put into words how vital Mariana has been to me during my postpartum period. She has become like a family to me, and I look forward to the days that I get to see her.
My experience with Mari has convinced me that every new mom should have a postpartum doula. Mari, specifically, is extremely caring, loving, and reliable- what more can you want for yourself and your newborn baby? Having her in my life has, without a doubt, made me a better mother to both my sons during this vulnerable postpartum time. I genuinely don’t know what I would have done without her.”
